Olympus, one of the world-leading manufacturers of quality photography equipment, introduces the tough, innovative and versatile Olympus 6020 digital compact camera.
This little camera has a lot of proof to show: waterproof up to 16 feet deep that allows underwater photography; shockproof up to a drop of 5 feet which is ideal for taking pictures even in chaotic occasions; and freeze proof up to a temperature drop of 14 degrees F or -10 degrees C, perfect in capturing those shivering moments.
Olympus 6020’s 14 megapixel high-resolution CCD will allow you to print poster size images without losing the finer details and its 5x optical zoom will let you get up close and personal to the action without getting in the middle of it.

Customer Feedback
Customer reactions to Olympus 6020 are a toss-up between satisfied and unsatisfied. While there are customers who are saying “The 6020 is the perfect camera,” there are also those who declare “this is a poor product.” Of 101 customers who provided feedbacks, 52% gave the camera a 4 or 5 star rating, while the rest scored this digital compact anywhere from one to three, with one star outnumbering 2 and 3 stars combined.
Some say that it takes great photos, while there are a number who also expressed disappointment with the blurry pictures it produces.
One diligent reviewer who is satisfied with his purchase offers insights into some of the common complaints which according to him are all in the manual:
• Slow start-up time: Turn “PW on Start-up” to off;
• Long time in between photos taken: camera’s default is four-second display of image taken. Turn off the feature in Shooting Menu 2, “Rec View” if you want to capture action sequence;
• Lag time in taking photos: press the shutter button halfway to allow the camera to focus automatically. Press all the way when you have the shot you wanted.
Recommendation
Although the Olympus 6020 comes with some really great features, it is hard to ignore the number of negative feedback presented by the customers who bought the camera. Its being water-, shock- and freeze-proof are amazing qualities which you will seldom see in digital cameras.
However, at the end of the day it is the quality of the photo that really matters. It’s really not every day that you go out scuba diving or skiing or dropping your camera, but when you use it you really want to capture the moment.
Final Recommendation: Buy with extreme caution. Take note of all the negative feedbacks; go to your camera dealer and test the Olympus 6020 to verify and confirm the truth behind those unpleasant comments or validate the positive remarks about it. But don’t expect your dealer to allow you to bring the Olympus 6020 to the nearest beach or pool to do a test run.
